personalized NDIS respite and support in picturesque Sunshine Coast Hinterland

A gentle, women’s-only space to slow down and feel human again.
Each Tuesday (9am–12pm) we gather at Inner Knowing Respite for hand stitching and slow stitching — think simple embroidery, visible mending, little keepsakes — and the kind of connection that happens when hands are busy and hearts are open.
This isn’t about perfect seams. It’s about mindfulness, easy conversation, and sharing ideas, stories, and tea. Bring your own project or start something simple; collaborate if you feel like it, or enjoy quiet focus. Either way, you’ll leave lighter than you arrived.
What you’ll find here:
Who it’s for: Women who want a calm, creative morning and a caring community. No experience needed. You’re only limited by your imagination — we’ll handle the inspiration.

Inner Knowing Respite is proud to be collaborating with the Sunshine Social Butterflies on a series of ongoing art workshops with local artists.
The Sunshine Social Butterflies are an incredible group of open, warm, and welcoming women who are passionate about creativity, connection, and building community. Their spirit of friendship and inclusivity makes them the perfect partner for these workshops.
Together, we’re bringing in local artists to share their skills and creativity — from clay work and painting to stitching and mixed media. These workshops are about more than learning techniques; they’re about:
✨ This collaboration means every workshop is filled with not just creativity, but also kindness, laughter, and the chance to connect with others who “get it.”
When Inner Knowing Respite and the Sunshine Social Butterflies come together, it’s more than an art class — it’s a celebration of women, community, and the joy of creating together.

Step into a day of calm, creativity, and connection at Inner Knowing Respite. Guided by Jenny McElhinney, a fully qualified Art Therapist, you’ll be supported every step of the way as you use simple hand-shaping techniques to create your very own clay angel — a timeless symbol of peace, protection, and self-expression.
This workshop is about more than making art. It’s a chance to:
✨ Explore the therapeutic benefits of working with clay — grounding, soothing, and deeply satisfying
✨ Express yourself through creativity, even if you’ve never touched clay before
✨ Connect with other women in a safe, welcoming space
By the end of the day, you’ll leave not only with a beautiful angel you’ve created by hand, but also with a lighter heart, a calmer mind, and a reminder of your own strength and creativity.

You’ll learn the basics of sashiko — from simple running stitches to creating beautiful geometric patterns — while enjoying the gentle company of like-minded women. No sewing experience is needed, just a willingness to pause and give yourself the gift of mindful creativity.
✨ What you’ll experience:
This is more than a sewing class — it’s self-care, connection, and creativity woven together..

Bring the magic of the season to your table with our next creative gathering at Inner Knowing Respite. In this special Christmas-themed workshop, you’ll design and make your very own floral table centrepiece — a beautiful, personal touch to brighten your home or share with loved ones.
Guided step by step in a relaxed, supportive setting, you’ll learn simple floristry techniques while enjoying the company of other women who love creativity and connection. No experience needed — just bring your festive spirit!
